Korea U-20 national team led by Shin Taeyong will have a training camp in Portugal. The U-20 national team will depart for Portugal in January 16 and set up the camp in Lisbon and Troia.

The U-20 team is scheduled to have five friendly matches in the camp. Portugal U-20 (January 25) and Sporting B (February 2) will be their opponent. Coach Shin plans to maximize organizational and tactical understanding in this training camp.

The 25 men squad that will participate in the camp has been confirmed. Barcelona trio Lee Seungwoo, Paik Seungho and Jang Gyeolhee joined the team. Existing players including Cho Youngwook and Han Chanhee are also included. In addition, Kim Jinya and Lee Seungmo who took an important role for the U-17 national team were also called by Shin.

Shin who took the team last November had some opportunities to look at the players and finally selected the current squad. Now he is trying to pass his football philosophy to his players.

Coach Shin showed an attacking football philosophy when he led the Olympic national team. Shin believes that 'the best defense is attack'. He wants his players to run for spaces constantly and control a ball in the direction of attack. The former Olympic coach plans to share his philosophy with the players in this training camp.

It will be a matter of concern that how well the Barcelona players will blend into the team. Lee and Paik have been called by the national team a number of times. And they proved what they were capable of when they led the team to the trophy of Suwon Continental Cup.

However, Jang does not have much experience of playing for the national team. Jang’s primary should be an adaptation to the team.

The U-20 national team will confirm the final world cup squad after JS Cup in March.

FIFA U-20 World Cup is the second largest event hosted by FIFA. The U-20 World Cup will take place from May 20 to June 11 and it will be held in six cities (Suwon, Jeonju, Incheon, Daejeon, Cheonan and Jeju).
